Opening Ceremony of DCE Project: Enhancing Digital Transformation in Education
On October 9, 2023, a significant initiative was launched in Binh Duong, Vietnam, to promote digital transformation in vocational education and training (VET) institutions.
The Digital Change Expert (DCE) project involves ten educational institutions from Binh Duong, Thu Duc City, and HCM City. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) and Hessische Landesstelle für Technologiefortbildung (HLfT) hosted the opening ceremony in Hessen, Germany.
The DCE Project is a collaborative effort between VGU, Germany's World Service University (WUS), and HLfT. Its objective is to enhance digitalization in VET institutions in Vietnam. The project consists of four phases: Standard Development, Training Needs Analysis, Training, and Evaluation, with the first two phases completed successfully.
Expert trainers from HLfT will conduct the online and offline training program, with interpreters available to assist trainees. The project has welcomed 10 participants from educational institutions, including Rectors, Vice-Rectors, Heads of Academic/IT Departments, and faculties, with 30 trainees.
Representative of Hlft, Mrs. Sabine Kaemf, highlighted her organization's impressive 40-year track record in training. Their expertise spans automation and electrical engineering, IT systems, renewable engineering, and, notably, educational management and vocational pedagogics. Kaemf expressed confidence that their seasoned training experts will contribute invaluable experience and professional knowledge to ensure the success of the DCE project and contribute to the digitalization of education in Binh Duong.
The DCE Project can catalyze comparable changes in Vietnam's vocational education and training institutions. With this forward-thinking endeavor, VGU and its collaborators are making substantial contributions to the progress of vocational education in the digital era, guaranteeing a promising future for both learners and institutions.
During the ceremony, Dr. Ha Thuc Vien, Vice President of VGU, also shared that "I am pleasure when we organize the opening on this occasion to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day, which is held annually to accelerate the implementation of the national digital transformation as well as the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030 according to the Prime Minister's Decision No. 505/QD-TTg dated April 22, 2022, October". He also wished that the trainees would continue to maintain their commitment to fully complete this course and apply the knowledge and skills from the course to our day-to-day management and teaching work, "together, we will create and develop the context of digital transformation for the future of vocational education."
