TVET teacher training (initial and In-service) is facing a major challenge worldwide in the light of the corona crisis - to continue its operation in times of "social distancing" and prepare teachers for the new "digital challenge". Currently, the Hessian Institute for Advanced Training in Technology
is piloting a tailor-made online programme with German teacher trainees from different TVET occupations. Open-source tools like Moodle (Learning Management System) and BigBlueButton (video conference server) are being used. The project focuses on the question of how teachers can deliver teaching online in order to sustainably support autonomous, self-directed, cooperative and creative learning.
